Theatre Ontario Seeking Community Theatre CoordinatorTheatre Ontario invites applications for the position of Community Theatre Coordinator to begin work in early 2008. This is a part-time employee position. Theatre Ontario provincial arts service organization serving individuals and organizations from the professional, community, and educational theatre sectors of Ontario. Founded in 1971, Theatre Ontario administers professional development and training programs; acts as a resource centre for information on theatre through career counselling, publications, and online resources; facilitates a number of theatre networks and actively works on special projects; and advocates with other arts organizations on behalf of Ontario's theatre community. Theatre Ontario seeks a motivated and independent individual who is familiar with the theatre environment of Ontario. The successful candidate will have good communication abilities as well as demonstrated skills in production and management in the community theatre sector. The key responsibilities are:
While the Head Office of Theatre Ontario is located in Toronto, the successful candidate need not necessarily be located there as long as electronic and telephone communication is available. Travel throughout the province is anticipated. This position has a very flexible schedule as the work week varies from 40 hours down to 4 hours depending on the season.
